The Kingdom of Morocco

Water-Man in Djemaa el Fna

Dates shop in Djemaa el Fna

When we traveled to Morocco, I did not have high expectations. To be honest, I never thought that Morocco would be fantastic. Morocco proved not only that I was wrong about my prior beliefs, but also that I should never judge a country before visiting it. Now, I have to admit that I do love Morocco, its people, its culture, and of course its cuisine...

We arrived in a very very hot summer day. It was August...the hottest month of the year. After traveling all day, we arrive to our hotel in Marrakech really exhausted, and I was fainting because of the heat. After checking-in at the hotel, one of the staff members asked me "Would you like a cup of Moroccan tea"....I did not have time to answer when I saw myself sitting in a nice patio surrounded by the aroma of orange blossoms with a nice cup of green tea with mint. It was magical.....the fragrance of the orange blossoms revived my soul and the sweet mint green tea awoke my mind. Instantly, I knew that Morocco captivated me.....

Immediately, our tiredness was gone. We did not want to waste a minute in the room hotel. Having energized our mind and soul we went out to walk to one of our favorites places: The Market of Marrakech (souk)....called Djemaa el Fna.

I wish to visit the Djemaa el Fna again to see its stores full of spices, to eat in those little tiny restaurants, to drink that fantastic Moroccan tea, to talk with that wonderful people....and of course....to take a picture to the unique Water-Man
