Vegetarian Hot-dog

These days, I'm making my own vegetarian wiener. I have a similar recipe, but I made some changes and this one taste better!

Wiener
180 grams of sundried tomatoes (not in oil)
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
2 teaspoons of cumin
2 teaspoon of oregano
1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
1 teaspoon of chili powder
4 tablespoons of cooked rice
1 teaspoon of crushed coriander seeds
Rice paper

Soak the sundried tomatoes for at least 5 hours. Drain them well, and keep a small portion of this water in case you need it.

In a food processor, blend the sundried tomatoes along with all the seeds. When you have a paste, add the remaining ingredients. You need to end up with a firm dough. In case you need moisture, add 1 or 2 tablespoons of the water used to soak the tomatoes.

Make a wiener of about 65-70 grams, and place it on a rice paper previously wet. Fold it, and stir fry it. I make my own hot dog bread thanks to Hilmar's recipe. We eat the hotdog with chucrut or kimchi, tomatoes, avocados and mayonnaise. ENJOY!

  1. Awesome that you made your own hot dog buns. They look very soft and in perfect size.

  2. We eat far less meat than we ever did so this seems really appealing - and easy too.

  3. This is one of the most interesting recipes I've seen for a meat alternative hot dog. I definitely want to give this one a try.
