Cucurrones y Arroz de los Tres Puñaos......Thanks Viena!
First of all, apologies for taking so long in coming back.....I thought that the moving would be faster, but it was longer than expected.....
Nevertheless, I stronger believe that life is about changes, and if we embrace the changes, then life will rewards us....
I know that life is impermanent......sometimes we take one path that we believe will be permanent, but then.....life makes us realize that nothing is forever.....
My life has been a constant change.....country, friends, family, profession....even the food!!....what I eat now is not the food that was known to me when I was raised......Every change has taught me a lesson....
Every piece of my past is a treasure and an important part of my memories.....and every memory is part of my present.....
One of the things that have discovered visiting your blogs, is how present in my life is my past....
Today, I want to thanks Viena.....
I don't know her, but I feel we are friends for centuries....her recipes are very different of those that I normally cook or eat, but when I read some of her recipes....they take me into a journey to my past......Viena, through her recipes, has woke up my memories....
I know that her dishes are very different to those of my country, but the pictures, the style, and the way of cooking them remind me my first job in rural development, and the way that I ate in the countryside of Chile while I worked with peasants....
Even yesterday, when I read her last post, the pictures, the landscape, the firewood stove, and the washed plastic bags reminds me that part of my past that I deeply love....
We have tried her Cucurrones, and her Arroz de Los Tres puñaos .......both dishes delicious....both dishes with deep soul....
Of course she cooks drinking mate, as in the countryside of Chile.....and I drink mate too......for sure one day we will enjoy a mate together......but I have to tell you Viena.....I like my mate bitter and strong.....Thanks Viena!!
