Trying Pizza Doughs.....Thanks to Tito and Jose Antonio!!

Pizza  with Jose Antonio's dough
Pizza  with Tito's dough

I’ve been trying to post a recipe without success.........Blogger has not allowed me to do it.... Maybe is because I have changed the blog..... also, I have not been able to write comments..... I have received emails saying that you can not write me comments ..... I thank you ...... When blogger will work well ?..... Perhaps we will have to seek new alternatives ......

Now, that I've had more time because I am at home ..... I could not comment on your blogs !....and Why I have been home?................COOOOOOLD!!.... YES!...... . We were +8 in December...and now there is -40C with wind chill of-47C as well .......
Therefore, I decided not to take my daughter to school yesterday and today because when there are warnings of bad weather (youcan see here the  warning) it is better to stay home to avoid car accidents and possible frostbite .....

We tried several recipes for pizza doughs..... and with these two very different (one with yeast and one without yeast) we are very happy!!

One dough is from Tito .... I must be the only one that have not tried it before......this dough has surprised me .....delicious without yeast .....(maybe the wine is the secret??)

Tito's dough has two rows of olives and mozzarela in cubes

The other dough is from Jose Antonio.....I use chickpeas flour to make Faina, but I have not used it in pizza......the result is fantastic!!

Jose Antonio's dough has three rows of olives and mozzarella in slices

To have a scientific basis to compare the doughs I used the same toppings

Pesto basil
Tomatoes of different colors
Basil leaves
Mozzarella
Kalamata olives

 Do you want a piece??

ENJOY!!

THANKS JOSE ANTONIO AND TITO....
YOUR DOUGHS ARE FANTASTICS!!

Thanksgiving........ Giving Thanks for What We Have.....

As you may have noticed, I have been away from the blog......mainly for two reasons: blogger neither want me to post nor to comment for about a week, and also we celebrated Thanksgiving....

For me, Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to share with friends and family......Also, it is a special time to reflect how blessed we are......health, job, love and happiness are just simple things that make our life fantastic....Unfortunately, during our busy year we do not take time to Thanks for all the blessings in our life....and I think we should do it often.....

Thanks for all the friends and family that have been there.....thanks to all of you that read us....and Thanks for all the recipes you post each and every day!!.....We have enjoyed some of your delicacies this Thanksgiving!!

As I mentioned last year, we do not celebrate with one dinner of Thanksgiving....we celebrate the whole weekend (from Friday to Monday is our Thanksgiving holiday) trying food that relates to this celebration. Since we do not eat turkey, pumpkin, eggplants, yam, spinach, tomatoes and potatoes were the main ingredients we used....

This time we have made some recipes from you......some of these dishes we have made more than once.....

How could I resist this escalivada from Cocinera de Betulo?....She is so sweet, fantastic cook, and a lovely person.....she is always there to give us a nice word....I hope one day I will meet you and your husband....Thanks Ana!!

How could I not try this this tortilla de boniato from L'Exquisit?....She is not only my source of inspiration when I have to make finger food, but also a fantastic person to give you a hand when you need it or when you want to make your work better......In our next trip to the Netherlands we will share a coffee and a good conversation......Thanks Sonia!!

How could I not try these patatas con almendras and patatas con judias verdes from Asopaipas?....He is always there with  delicacies  that I do want to try each and every day......he is very generous with us to share his knowledge about traditional recipes from Spain, and his passion to preserve this important culinary roots... ...Thanks Jose Manuel!!

How could I resist this crema de berenjenas from Kesito?....She is wonderful, great person, and although she is very busy.....she is always present in our blogs....I hope one day we will go to the chiringuito that you know to enjoy that wonderful seafood.....Thanks Angeles!!

In the next post, I will show new dishes that we try this Thanksgiving Holiday....Thanks to all of you!!

ENJOY!!

Cucurrones y Arroz de los Tres Puñaos......Thanks Viena!

First of all, apologies for taking so long in coming back.....I thought that the moving would be faster, but it was longer than expected.....

Nevertheless, I stronger believe that life is about changes, and if we embrace the changes, then life will rewards us....

I know  that life is impermanent......sometimes we take one path that we believe will be permanent, but then.....life makes us realize that nothing is forever.....

My life has been a constant change.....country, friends, family, profession....even the food!!....what I eat now is not the food that was known to me when I was raised......Every change has taught me a lesson....

Every piece of my past is a treasure and an important part of my memories.....and every memory is part of my present.....

One of the things that have discovered visiting your blogs, is how present in my life is my past....

Today, I want to thanks Viena.....

I don't know her, but I feel we are friends for centuries....her recipes are very different of those that I normally cook or eat, but when I read some of her recipes....they take me into a journey to my past......Viena, through her recipes, has woke up my memories....

I know that her dishes are very different to those of my country, but the pictures, the style, and the way of cooking them remind me my first job in rural development, and the way that I ate in the countryside of Chile while I worked with peasants....

Even yesterday, when I read her last post, the pictures, the landscape, the firewood stove, and the washed plastic bags reminds me that part of my past that I deeply love....

We have tried her Cucurrones, and her Arroz de Los Tres puñaos .......both dishes delicious....both dishes with deep soul....

Of course she cooks drinking mate, as in the countryside of Chile.....and I drink mate too......for sure one day we will enjoy a mate together......but I have to tell you Viena.....I like my mate bitter and strong.....Thanks Viena!!

Spirals Bread with Fresh Basil Pesto and Cheese......Thanks Caro!

Today, I want to thanks to Caro ......

Caro is amazing to me.....she creates delicious vegetarian dishes with a mix of an Italian and Argentinean touch......I always tell her that if I go to Buenos Aires again (a city that I LOVE....but really LOVE!)....I will go to have lunch with her.....and if she does not want to invite me....not a problem....I will enter through the window of her kitchen and I will eat EVERYTHING!!!.....I will go to her backyard and collect the fresh vegetables and fruit that she has in her vegetables garden......and I will eat the fresh pies that she makes in her wooden oven......Thanks Caro!....I have learned so much from your yummy vegetarian kitchen......

My daughter helped me to fill it
