And for the Cold Winter Days?....Indian Food!!....Mattar Paneer and Paneer Sizzler....

The cold days are gone (for the moment...). Now, we are having a wonderful +3C!!...It is sunny, warm, and lovely outside. Winter here is not that bad, but there are days with -35C to -50C when the wind comes from the Artic.....and for those days.....Indian food!!.....nice, warm, and spicy.....ENJOY!!

Mattar Paneer

300 grams of paneer in cubes
1 cup frozen green peas
1 onion (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
1 piece of ginger (3 cm) grated
4 small tomatoes (or 1 can of chopped tomatoes)
1 cardamom seeds (crushed)
1/2 cup of yogurt
1 teaspoon of dhania (coriander seeds) crushed
Chili powder to your taste (I used 1/2 of teaspoon)
1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
4 tablespoon of ghee or oil.
Salt.

Fry the paneer for both sides. Set aside.

In a pot, heat the gee, and add the onion. Incorporate the turmeric, ginger, cardamom, coriander, and garam masala. When the onion is translucent, add the chopped tomatoes. Stir it, and blend it in a blender. Put in a pot again, and add the frozen peas. Cook it for 7 minutes at medium-low temperature (or until green peas are cooked). Add the chilli powder, and the yogurt. Incorporate the paneer, and let it simmer for 3 minutes. Serve it, and garnish with cilantro on top. ENJOY!!

Paneer Sizzler (adapted from Nita Mehta)

1 cup of frozen peas
250 grams of mushrooms (sliced)
250 grams of paneer in pieces
1/2 onion (chopped)
1/2 teaspoon of garam masala
Pepper (fresh grounded)
Chilli powder
Salt
4 tablespoons of ghee
Water

Fry the paneer for both sides. Set aside..

In a pan, heat two tablespoons of ghee. Add the peas, salt, garam masala and pepper. Cover it with water. Set aside.

In a pot, heat two tablespoons of ghee, and add the onion. Cook it for one minute, and add the sliced mushrooms. Add salt and chilli powder.  Cook it for three minutes. or until the mushrooms are cooked.

You can arrange them with green peas in the center, surrounded by mushrooms and paneer, or mix it all together (I like this last version)....ENJOY!!
