Wishing Fortune For Everybody......

"I wish every day would be Christmas....each day full of love and hope....of happiness and sharing...."

I heard that thought from a friend.....I answer her....Is only you that can make everyday a Christmas day....

I always thought that is in us to keep the magic of those days for the rest of the year.... is on us ..... give a smile, a kind gesture, a piece of cake or any little thing that comes from our kitchen ... .. when it comes with love .....

Personally, I think that all dates are special ...... long time ago I decided that in this house we would celebrate all the events ...... good and bad .... must be celebrated!

We celebrate the good events because we must be grateful for the fortune..... and ..... we celebrate the bad events because we also have the fortune to learn from the bad times .....

So ..... we celebrate and welcome the fortune, peace, life, friends...... those nearby, and those who are far away .....at any date, but in this particular time we send good wishes to all who passed for our lives .....and all who are present and absent .....

For me ..... ...... to celebrate is to create memories and we try to do every time we celebrate .....

According to the etymology of "celebration" it comes from the Latin celebrare-celebratio. According to some scholars, means the same haunt, or is the act of meeting several people in one place. Celebrate is associated with an event that is associated with a memory or a feeling

Maybe that's why I like to celebrate ...... to create memories that stay ..... memories .....Implicit recall the word heart. Comes from the Latin will remember, consists of re(again) and Cordaro (heart )..... ..... remembering or twice we felt for the heart ....

This is the first house of cookies we do with our daughter ..... ...... to create memories.... is made of my almond biscuits and the design comes from the fabulous blog Mari's Cakes ..... the technique of making glass candy is from the fabulous blog Trissalicious

We made two houses.....we we'll eat them later....we loved them!!....we use candles to make them appear real....

This house was decorated by my daughter and my husband....

This house was decorated by me...

And....What memories I have from past Christmas?....Two things.....a drink called "Cola de Mono" (we pronounce it colemono) and the Pan de Pascua......I did not have a recipe about Pan de Pascua, but I knew that as soon  Angelica would post her recipe I will love it!!

Thanks Angelica!!

However, to eat just Pan de Pascua without Colemono is not appropriate.....here you have my Colemono recipe....usually Colemono sis made with instant coffee, but my Grandma always made it with coffee beans.....that is why I make it this way....this is not the original recipe from my home.....it is one that I have been adapting through these years.....we like it very much......

Colemono

1 1/2 cup of water
1 cup of milk
1 can condensed milk
1 teaspoon anise seeds
A piece of cinammon
4 cloves
1/2 bean of vanilla seeds or vanilla extract
1 small coffee espresso cup
Rum (originally is made with pisco or aguardiente, I prefer it with ron)
Coffee beans

You have to start with beautiful coffee beans............

Mix it with Rum....1 cup of rum with coffee beans in a bottle with lid (otherwise the rum will evaporate)

After 4 days  (you can leave it more days if you wish).....you will have the following colour of rum......

Reserve............

In a pot, boil for three minutes the water with anise seeds, cinammon, and cloves. Let it cool. In another pan, noil the milk, coffe and vanilla. Let it cool.....

When the water is cool, strain it and mix it with the condensed milk. Then, mix it with the milk with vanilla and coffee. Incorporate the rum to your taste. I use less then a half of a cup, I use the rest to prepare more colemono......

What is the result?.........

A good glass of colemono......
To toast for this Christmas, for the birthdays of my blog friends and for the blogs that have celebrated birthdays  (cuchiflitos, sonia l'exquisit) and the one that is celebrating today (cocinera de betulo
Salud!!

Also, to thanks the recipes I made during this Christmas thanks to you ...... for now I will post only one....this is a very long post ..... but will place other delicacies that you have shared and we've tested. .....

I wish you all much luck, enough celebration, and tons of memories .... I wish that we are able to see the good fortune that surrounds us and share our joy and gratitude to those who are near or far from us.....a big hug to  each of you...........
