Celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi.....Modak and Coconut ladoo

It is that time of the year again where we are celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi that means the  birth of Lord Ganesha.

As one of the many multicultural and multi-religious festivities we make at home, we love to celebrate this festival as Ganesh is the Lord of new beginnings and the remover of obstacles. We thank him for  his blessings and we know He wipe out all the possible struggles we have in our life.

We made our Lord Ganesha in clay, and we went to the local Hindu temple taken out for immersion in water; thus, all the obstacles in our life are destroyed.

Also, we prepare some sweets that are eaten in these days Modak and Coconut ladoo

Modak

125 grams of paneer (you can use strained ricotta if you don't have paneer)
110 grams of condensed milk
2 cardamom pods
5 saffron strings

In a mortar, grind the cardamom seeds with the saffron strings. Set aside.

Crumble the paneer and mix it with condensed milk. Put it in a pan, and cook it until is combined (medium heat for 7 minutes). Add the saffron/cardamom mix and combine well.

Let it cool until warms and knead it until soft. Make balls or put it in a Modak mold. Enjoy!

Coconut ladoo
