Orange Almond Custard.....Delicious!!

I love oranges....and when I knew that Marisa was organizing a contest with oranges for her Blog First Anniversary, I promised her that I will contribute with a recipe....Thanks Marisa!

This is a orange almond custard served in the same orange fruit.......ENJOY!!

Orange Almond Custard

1 3/4 cup of milk
1/4 cup of orange juice
55 grams of sugar
2 egg yolks
1 cinnamon stick
A piece of orange peel
30 grams of almonds (grinded)
40 grams of cornstarch

1/2 spoon of Azahar water

Wash the oranges and carefully take the flesh out. You can make juice or eat it.

Boil the milk with the sugar, cinnamon stick, and a piece of orange peel. Set aside, and let it cool. Take out the cinnamon stick and the orange peel.

Mix the orange juice, egg yolks, and cornstarch. Incorporate it into the milk, and beat it carefully. Heat it at low heat until it reaches consistency of a custard. Be careful....you have to beat it strongly to avoid the milk get curdle. Add the almonds. Add the azahar water.

Distribute the custard in the oranges, and let it cool in the fridge. If you want, then you can add some sugar on top and caramelized it. Eat this dessert in the same day, otherwise the custard will get bitter because of the orange peel. ENJOY!!
