I have been quite busy with home repairs and the vegetable garden. Thus, I'm making simple meals with the rule of three: salad, protein (in this case shrimps), and carbohydrate (in this case naan).
We can share a nice meal, and have more time.
Prawn Masala
400 grams of prawns clean and deveined
200 grams thick yogurt
3 cm ginger grated
3 garlic cloves crushed
1 teaspoon red kashmiri chilli powder
1 teaspoon of turmeric
½ teaspoon of crushed cumin seeds
½ teaspoon of coriander seeds crushed
1 teaspoon garam masala
Salt
Oil
Lemon to drizzle
Mix the yogurt with all the spices. Add the prawns, and leave it in the fridge to marinate for 4 hours.
In a cast iron pan, add some oil and heat it. Place the marinated prawns, and cook them. When they are cooked, drizzle them with lemon. ENJOY!
Garlic Cilantro Naan
1 teaspoon of sugar
1/2 cup of warm water
2 teaspoons of dry yeast
1 tablespoon of sourdough starter (optional)
1/2 cup of yogurt
2 1/2 cup of flour
water as needed.
Fresh coriander chopped
4 garlic cloves chopped
Mix the warm water, sugar and yeast. Let it be foamy. Add the sourdough if you have it.
Mix the yogurt with the foamy yeast mix. Add the flour, and add water if needed. You need a sticky dough. Let it rise for 2 hours. Divide it in two portions I kept one portion to make naan the next Divide one portion in 4 balls. With a roll pin flatten them, and add garlic and cilantro on top. Heat a cast iron pan, and place some oil. When it is hot place the naan, and cook it until starts to inflate, then turn it over. It is like 2 minutes per side. Place some butter of top before serving it. ENJOY!
I am coming over for the lunch!! Both are mouthwatering and so comforting.
ReplyDeleteThis looks truly fantastic. Thank goodness that Asian food has become popular in the west, so that we have all been introduced to interesting textures and flavours.
