Candied orange

If you want candied orange like me, then you will start making at home. Easy, tasty, healthy and affordable...plus you end up drinking the orange juice!!

Oranges
Sugar
Water

The proportions are 1:1.5 oranges to sugar

Wash the oranges, and peel them off from top to bottom with as much white layer as possible, but without orange flesh.

Weight them. Mine was 300 grams of orange peel, then I used 450 grams of sugar.

Place them in a bowl with water and let it rest overnight. Drain it. Place it in a pot with cold water covering all the pieces, and lei it boil at medium heat for 10 minutes. Do it three times.

After three times in boiling water, place the orange peel in a pot and cover them with the sugar without water. Place it at low-medium heat, until sugar is dissolves. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes at minimum heat until you have a consistency of a syrup. Take them out, and after they are cool off, place it in a container in the fridge. You can use the syrup for baking a cake or making cookies. ENJOY!
