Happy Saint Valentine's...Pomegranate Jelly and Cream Dessert With Designs to Choose From.....

We do not celebrate Saint Valentines in a commercial way, but we do celebrate eating something special. To be honest.....we celebrate everything!....the good and the bad.....everything in our life needs to be celebrated.

In our experience here in Canada, only the new couples or people engaged in a serial relation do buy more Valentine's gift. However, the majority of the people give cards with a hand written statement appreciating your friendship, and I found that this occasion is a very nice day to celebrate friendship.

I agree that we should celebrate everyday the love and friendship, but if we forget to do it daily....Why do not we use this occasion to remember our friends and the people we love the most?

For our friendship, I invite you to enjoy one of these dessert.....and you can choose your own design too!!.....

Recipe

White cream
3 cups of cream (I use 10%)
4.5 tablespoons of sugar
3 teaspoons of unflavoured gelatine
3 teaspoons of cornstarch
Vanilla seeds and vanilla essence

Pomegranate jelly
2 cups of pomegranate juice (I used POM, but you can use any commercial juice)
3 teaspoons of unflavoured gelatine

Pomegranate seeds for garnish and a muffin tray.

This is a slow recipe because you have to do one cup at a time.

For the first layer, hydrate one teaspoon of gelatine with two tablespoons of water. Set aside. Mix one cup of cream with 1.5 tablespoon of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cornstarch, vanilla seeds and vanilla essence. Mix it well and heat it (don't let it boil). Add the gelatine, and dissolve it. Boil it for only 1 minute at low heat. When gets warm, distribute it in the glasses, and put them inclined in a muffin tray or as you wish.

Here comes the tricky part. If you use another juice, then you will have to adjust the gelatine quantity. Every juice has a different acidity and level of sugar; therefore, the amount of gelatine can be different. For the second layer, I used one cup of pomegranate juice with 1 teaspoon of gelatine. Hydrate one teaspoon of gelatine with two tablespoons of water. Set aside. Mix it with the juice, and heat it (don't let it boil) until the gelatine is dissolved. Boil it for only 1 minute at low heat. When gets warm, distribute it in the glasses, and put them inclined in a muffin tray or as you wish.

The third layer is the same as the first.

For the fourth layer, I used one cup of pomegranate juice with 2 teaspoon of gelatine. Hydrate two teaspoons of gelatine with two tablespoons of water. Set aside. Mix it with the juice, and heat it (don't let it boil) until the gelatine is dissolved. Boil it for only 1 minute at low heat. When gets warm, distribute it in the glasses, and put them inclined in a muffin tray or as you wish.

The fifth layer is the same as the first.

ALWAYS PUT A LAYER WHEN THE PRIOR ONE HAS SET FIRM

The interesting part of this dessert is the texture. The second layer of pomegranate juice with gelatine is very creamy, and the fourth layer is hard. This makes a very pleasant dessert....... ENJOY!!
