Lo Mein Noodles are wheat noodles. They are medium thick and flat. I made them in Lo Mein Sauce with veggies and prawns, but you can use any protein. They are silky and saucy. The difference with other noodles is that you incorporate one by one all the ingredients, and in other noodles you stir fry them in the wok, and you take them out one by one to combine all of them after they are cooked with the noodles.
Lo Mein Noodles with Lo Mein Sauce
200 grams lo mein noodles
quantity of your choice:
carrots in julienne
tofu
prawns
yellow bell pepper in julienne
garlic (lots!!)
broccoli in pieces
snow peas
green onions
Lo Mein Sauce
3 teaspoon cornflour
2 tablespoon dark thick soy sauce
2 tablespoons of regular soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
Wash and cut all the veggies for the wok. Set aside
Mix all the ingredients of the sauce and set aside.
Cook the noodles for 4-5 minutes according to the package.
In a wok, heat oil and add some garlic. Sautee the prawns. Add more garlic and sautee all the vegetables. Add more garlic and sautee the tofu. Incorporate the cooked pasta, and spread on top the sauce. Mix it well, and place a lid. Let it cook for 3 minutes. ENJOY!
I can't remember when I last had some lo mein noodles...yours turned out really great!
