Happy Diwali!!!!!!!...........A Sweet Celebration!!!

Diwali is known as the "festival of lights". It is a festival that is held between mid-October and mid November by different religions of India. It is a festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, and some branches of Buddhism.

Diwali comes from the Sanskrit दीपावली which means "row of lamps." Oil lamps are lit to mark the triumph of good over evil. The lights of the candles or lamps make the goddess Lakshmi to feel welcome, and fireworks are shot to ward off evil spirits.

During Diwali, people use new clothes, clean the silver, and traditional Indian sweets are shared..........

Unfortunately, we could not go to the temple that is out of town to see the ceremonies, fireworks, and get the food .........However, we celebrated with Indian food ....... and of course ... .. delicious Indian sweets (some recipes will come later on!).......ENJOY!!

Happy Diwali !!
