I saw this bread in youtube, and immediately I had to make it. It was delicious, easy, tasty and the perfect complement for a weekend dinner with some salad, olives, bell peppers and cheese.
The original recipe is here
I adapted it since I always prefer to add sourdough to make it more digestible.
Bread with herbs and cheese
80ml of Water
300 grams of Flour
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sourdough
Filling:
Chopped herbs. I used basil, chives and oregano from my garden
1 cheese slice per bread. I used havarti
Butter
Dough
Mix all the ingredients until you have a smooth dough. Let it rest for 1 hour. Divided in 6 balls and let it rest for 15 minutes. With a roller pin, flatten it very thin. Spread some butter, distribute the chopped herbs, and the cheese slice. Fold it, and cook/fry it in a pan with some olive oil (2 minutes per side). ENJOY!
I've never used sourdough, but this dough looks easy and delicious. Love all the fresh herbs in this great looking sandwich. I forget about YouTube for recipe ideas. I'll have to check out some recipes.
