The Ganesh Chaturti festival celebrates Lord Ganesh not only as the God of New Beginnings, but also the Remover of Obstacles as well as the god of wisdom and intelligence.
\As usual, we celebrated this tradition at home....especially for blessing this new beginnings!!
Afgani Paneer Tikka
Paneer 300 g in cubes and fried.
Paste to make Afghan paneer:
4 tbsp oil
3 onions sliced
6 garlic
1 piece 3cm ginger chopped
2 green chilies cut into strips
1 1/2 tsp salt
½ cup coriander leaves
1/4 cup of water
In a pot, place the oil and heat it. Add the onions, garlic, ginger, and chilies. Stir fry them until onion is translucent. Add the coriander and water. Let it simmer for 2 minutes. Place it in a blender and blend it until it is smooth. Set aside.
For the yogurt mixture:
1 cup yogurt
1 tsp coriander powder
1 tsp jeera powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp garam masala
Mix all the ingredients, and set aside.
Sauce:
2 tsp oil
2 bay leaves
4 green cardamoms
1 cinnamon stick
4 cloves
Afghan paneer paste
Yogurt mixture
Water as needed
In a pot heat oil, Add bay leaves, cardamom, cinnamon, and cloves. Let it take the flavors out for 5 minutes at low temperature. Add the Afghan paneer paste, and stir it. Add the yogurt mixture, and stir it. Let it simmer and add the fried paneer. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Serve it warm with rice. ENJOY!!
