Canapés with puff pastry

Since I learned this new form to make puff pastry, I have some pastry ready-to-go in my freezer to use it as needed. I don't remember (youtube or instagram?) where I saw this idea, but I can tell you that it is fast, delicious and very simple to make it. You can buy your puff pastry if you don't want to make your own.

Canapés puff pastry

1 portion of puff pastry

Filling
150 grams cream cheese
50 grams of parmiggiano reggiano grated cheese
70 grams of gouda cheese shredded (you can use any other cheese that can be melted)
Milk as needed

Toppings
parmiggiano reggiano grated cheese
oregano or any other herbs
egg yolk and milk
whatever you have in the fridge. I used: cheese, olives, shrimps, mushrooms, tomatoes, pesto.

With a rolling pin, flatten the puff pastry in a rectangle shape to 2mm. Divided in two pieces.

Filling: mix the cheeses, and add some milk as needed to form a paste. Place it on one piece of the dough, and place the other dough on top of it. Seal the edges. With the base of small glass, make several small indentations to place the toppings. Cut each square with a pizza cutter or knife. Mix egg yolk with milk and brush it. Sprinkle some herbs (I used oregano), and some parmiggiano reggiano grated cheese. In each indentation, place a topping that you have. Bake it in a preheated oven ay 365F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. ENJOY!

Other alternative is just to cut them in stripes, sprinkle them with herbs and parmiggiano reggiano grated cheese, and place some toppings on top. Bake it in a preheated oven ay 365F for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. ENJOY!
