Un plato calientito para estos fríos días de invierno
Kadhi pakora
Vegetables fritters
4 potatoes boiled
1 onion chopped and fried
1 cup spinach or swiss chard chopped
5 tbs gram flour or flour
red chili powder to your taste
salt
pepper
1 tsp cumin seeds grinded
1/2 tsp coriander seeds grinded
a pinch of baking soda
water as needed
oil to fry
Mash the potatoes. Add the spices, swiss chard, onion and gram flour. In case you need it, add a little bit of water to make small balls/burgers. Fry them 2 minutes per side. Set aside.
Kadhi sauce
1/2 tsp fenugreek seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp red chili powder
1 tsp turmeric powder
4 dried red chilies
3 green chilies
2.2 cm ginger chopped
2 garlic chopped
2 cups yogurt
5 tbs gram flour
salt and pepper
oil to fry
4 cups of water or more if needed . It depends on how thick you want the sauce.
In a pot, fry the seeds with ginger and garlic. In a bowl, mix the water, yogurt, and gram flour. Add turmeric, salt and pepper. Blend it with a hand blender until there is no lumps. Add it to the pot, and heat it until it is thick. It takes about 15 minutes. Place this sauce on a plate, and place the veggie fritters on top. Serve warm with rice. ENJOY!
250 g large raw prawns
1/2 tsp nigella seeds or cumin seeds
1 fresh green chili without seeds
50 grams fresh coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric
3 garlic cloves chopped
1 cm ginger chopped
½ tsp salt
1 lemon juice
oil
water as needed
Mix all the ingredients (except the prawns) in a blender, and add water as needed to make a thick sauce. Marinate the prawns for at least 1 hour. In a pot, heat some oil and place the prawns with the sauce. Cook them until done. Serve with basmati rice. ENJOY!
